Mark Cuban won’t say if he’ll run for president, but notes the ‘door is wide open’

While entrepreneur Mark Cuban won’t say whether or not a run for president is in the cards, the billionaire and owner of the Dallas Mavericks does see an opportunity for new leadership coming from outside of the political class of Washington, D.C.

“I think we’re tired of traditional politicians, the political parties,” Cuban said in a wide-ranging interview with Yahoo Finance. “There is no better time for somebody to step up and really be a leader. And, like I said many, many times, you don’t have to be ‘The’ leader to be a leader.”

Cuban wouldn’t say if he had presidential ambitions on the horizon.

“Everything’s changed,” he said. “So, I’m not going to answer the question. I don’t have an answer.”

But he did say that he sees an opportunity for the country.

“This is American reset 1.0. We get the chance to rewrite all the rules and do it in a way that is non-partisan, puts people first, puts everybody on equal footing, and says, ‘You know what, let’s go forward and do this together. We the people,’” Cuban said.

He added that right now, there’s a “void of leadership,” and the “door is wide open whether it’s me or anybody else.”

“Sorry to talk around the question, but I think it’s an opportunity for the whole country,” he said.
