DC Council approves measure allowing residents to ‘self-prescribe’ medical marijuana

WASHINGTON – Council customers in D.C. have approved a measure to allow anyone 21 years and older “self-prescribe” health care cannabis.

Supporters say D.C.’s authorized health care marijuana industry is losing a substantial quantity of business and funds to unlawful pop-up cannabis “present stores,” which exploit loopholes in the legislation. 

At present, in the District, you require a doctor’s certification before you can obtain health care cannabis. 

But, illegal weed “reward stores” need no certification.
